Travel first to the Montserrat Monastery, located just outside central Barcelona. Montserrat is considered to be the cornerstone of Catalan culture, history, nature, and spirituality. Learn more about the area from your guide as you tour the atrium and the Basilica, inside of which sits the "Black Madonna." You also see the 15th-century cloister and Santa Maria square.

Continue to Oller de Mas, a 10th-century castle now home to a successful winery. Walk through the vineyards alongside your guide, and then tour the barrel room and production area to discover more about manufacturing methods.

Out trip to Montserrat was extremely pleasurable. Our guide Ain, was knowledgable of the Montserrat monastery and its history. The winery and tapas experience was very good, and we had a small group due the Covid 19 scare. It was like we had a private tour and tasting.

Our tour was perfect. Jordi gave us the perfect amount of information for each part of the tour. The time allowed for each part of the tour was planned in such a way that we were not rushed but felt that each experence was complete. Our tour was combined with three other groups and we got to meet three other guides that were also well prepared, with their knowledge of all the tour stops as well as the english language.

Dani will love to know it :) During the free time in Montserrat there are many cool activities to do, and it is a good idea to ask your guide for recommendations in order to make the most out of your visit to the mountain! Hiking is a very cool thing to do, and Saint Michael’s Cross is one of our favorite hikes. The trail is not very steep, but yes, it is a bit tiring. Although the views are absolutely worth it, right? After some time wandering around the mountain, sampling some nice wines paired with tapas sounds like the perfect plan to recharge our batteries! Thank you so much for joining our crew :)

We had such a lovely day in Montserrat. Our tour guide was excellent and engaging from start to finish. The tour offers a nice balance of guided time and time when you are allowed to walk around on your own. Would recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona and wanting to get out of the city.

Half day tours offer around 1-1.5 hours of free time, and full day tours about 2.5 hours. Montserrat is only one hour away from Barcelona, but thanks to the beauty and peace of the mountain, it is hard to think of having a city so close. So yes, it is a great option to spend the day away of the city but still be in touch with the local culture :) Thanks for recommending!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. It was a great, relaxing way to spend the day in Montserrat. We were lucky based on the time of year (end of February) in that it wasn’t busy so we moved quickly through the viewing of the Black Madonna and the tour of the monastery. Because of this we actually had about 70 minutes of free time - enough to browse the art museum and do a liquor tasting (both recommended if time allows). The winery was beautiful and the cold tapas lunch was actually really good. Our tour guide Aina was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about both Montserrat and it’s history as well as the wines and wine making in the region. A great day!

This tour offers around 1-1.15 hours of free time in Montserrat, not as much as full day tours, but still more than enough to explore a bit on your own. Like you did! You really made the most out of your free time in the mountain visiting the museum and tasting the liquors :) The tasting is usually the last part of the tour. After visiting the winery and the vineyards we sample 3 different wines fully produced (even bottled) at the winery. In half day tours, these tastings are paired with some light tapas made with local products. It is a great way to finish the tour right before heading back to Barcelona!
